Fermented Hardwood Sawdust Substrate

from $40.00

Fermented hardwood is a great substrate for wood loving fungi that is fermented using time and hydrated lime. During the fermentation process, beneficial bacteria enter the substrate and create an environment where fungi can effectively digest the wood substrate and grow mushrooms.

Our fermented wood substrate takes around one month to prepare; so please plan accordingly when ordering.

Currently my favorite species to grow on fermented hardwood is reishi. Oyster also performs very well, and I am using it experimentally with other mushroom species as well.
